Description
This year’s Fairfield County Economic Summit and Outlook will feature Connecticut’s major-party candidates for governor, Democrat Dan Malloy and Republican Tom Foley, speaking about their plans for addressing the state’s fiscal crisis. In addition, you’ll hear top business leaders and economists discuss the effects of the recession and how Fairfield County is positioned to grow and prosper as the recovery progresses.
The conference will feature Steven Cochrane, managing editor at Moody’s Analytics, who will discuss regional, national, and international economic outlooks and their effect on Connecticut’s economy.
Steve Lanza, Art Wright, and Dennis Heffley, editors of The Connecticut Economy, a University of Connecticut quarterly, will also release the fall edition of their publication, which focuses on key economic issues for the upcoming gubernatorial campaign, including:
- the budget and unfunded liabilities
- economic competitiveness
- jobs and self-employment
Every attendee will get a free copy of the publication. Edward J. Deak, professor of economics, Fairfield University and Connecticut model manager, The New England Economic Partnership, will also join the panel to discuss traffic congestion.
Other guest speakers include:
- Michael Pavia, mayor, City of Stamford
- Laure C. Aubuchon, director of economic development, City of Stamford
