Eric Brown is associate counsel at theConnecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). His primary responsibilities involve developing policy positions on energy, environmental, transportation and land use issues for CBIA and advocating those positions before regulatory agencies and the state legislature.
CBIA, Connecticut’s largest business organization, represents over 10,000 companies. The Association works to promote a healthy business climate, which encourages economic growth and job creation in the state.
Brown also directs CBIA’s Environmental Policies Council – approximately 200 Connecticut companies that assist CBIA in developing and advocating public policy positions on environmental issues and keeping members up-to-date with environmental requirements.
Brown joined CBIA in July 1994, after serving 3 1/2 years as a senior environmental analyst with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. He also worked as an environmental specialist for the Hartford law offices of Murtha Cullina, LLC and worked at the state legislature as well. He is a former teacher and coach at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, Conn.
Brown holds a B.S. in geology from the University of Rhode Island, a M.S. in geophysics from Boston College and a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law.
